Salute Sante! Grapeseed Oil, Coldpressed

Grapeseed oil is prized by chefs the world over for its neutral flavor and its excellent emulsification properties – grapeseed won't overpower the taste of your dishes and your whipped mayonnaise, aioli and creamy dressings will not separate when chilled.

Salute Santé! Cold Pressed Grapeseed Oil is an excellent source of vitamin E and antioxidants, while containing less saturated fat than olive and avocado oils. Its light and nutty, yet neutral flavor, has no greasy aftertaste and possesses the unique ability to enhance the flavors of ingredients instead of altering them. Its high smoke point (485˚F) makes it ideal for sautéing, frying and baking without smoking, splattering or burning.

Cold pressing ensures nutrients are preserved as the oil is extracted from the seeds at temperatures that are no higher than the temps in their natural environment. It also means that the oil has not been extracted through the use of toxic chemical solvents, like hexane, which is the chief reason that many “seed oils” have a reputation for being harmful to consume. You don’t have to avoid seed oils, you only have to avoid the ones that are processed with high-heat and chemicals.

Salute Santé! Grapeseed Oil is also a great choice for the environment as it is 100% upcycled. Upcycled grapeseed oil is a sustainable, zero-waste oil that is extracted from the leftover seeds of grapes used in winemaking production. Salute Santé! repurposes these by-products from local wineries in Italy, Portugal and Napa Valley, reducing landfill waste and eliminating the need for extra land, water, or fertilizer to grow grapes solely for the seeds.

About Salute Sante!

Valentin Humer and Nanette Rosenberg founded both Salute Sante! and Food & Vine Inc. back in 1994. Austrian born Valentin, a European-trained chef working with some of the finest hotels throughout Europe, gained a wealth of experience creating and preparing healthy gourmet food. He met Nanette in Manhattan after moving there and together they discovered grapeseed oil. They were both impressed by its versatility, high-smoke point, and health benefits. The couple moved to California and created an industry for the highest quality cold-pressed grapeseed oil. They spent ten years developing their own mechanical cold press technology in which, after pressing, the oil is physically refined with natural clay and steam. Today, they are producing their oil in the leading wine countries of Italy, Portugal and Napa Valley. Valentin and Nanette travel the world educating people about the oil’s unique attributes as Valentin has become known as the foremost authority on grapeseed oil. “Salute Santé!” is a common toast in both French and Italian that translates “to your health.” So let’s raise a glass to Valentin and Nanette for bringing a healthy, cold-pressed, grapeseed oil to the market for our enjoyment and we’ll say – Salute Santé!
