About Seashine Labs Organic Skincare:

Dawn Marie Lake, founder and formulator at Seashine, developed a passion for natural healing as a young child working in her grandmother’s Dallas health food store. She eventually opened her own health food store in another Texas town when she was only 23 years old. For the following 25 years, she has counseled people on their journey to better health while always expanding her own knowledge of natural remedies. She eventually became certified in French Medical Aromatherapy and learned to create her own formulas. After deciding to sell her store and the house to buy a sailboat, she and her husband Colin embarked on a two-and-a-half-year voyage from the Bahamas to Cuba through the beautiful reef-lined waters of Mexico, Belize, and the western Caribbean. She brought a wide assortment of essential oils onboard and spent her downtime formulating potions. They rented a cabin on the island of Roatan, developed her new line of formulas and began selling them in shops and hotels under the name Seashine Essentials Collection. After some success, they realized they needed a mainland home base to start a company and a new brand. They sailed to Guatemala, set up shop in the town of Antigua and launched Seashine Labs Organic Skincare with a new line of formulas that Dawn Marie spent over two years testing. Getting to know the community, the couple found no shortage of people eager for meaningful employment opportunities. A commitment to hand-made production, providing work for their community and caring for the planet is at the forefront of their operations. Dawn Marie believes wholeheartedly that the ingredients we put on our body are as important as the ones we put in it.
