With summer on its way, there’s lots of planning to do if a productive garden is what you’re hoping for. Choosing the right seed varieties can be just as important as the climate where you live. But what better way to try a seed than to get it from a trusted organic source?
(OP) 82 days – Top Hat Sweet Corn was a favorite in our garden this year! It produces very fat, long sweet and tender ears with deep, yellow kernels. The ears have a thick, well-wrapped husk on them, which tends to resist it from huskworms. The plants are slightly shorter than most varieties, but a high early producer. This corn was developed by Jonathan Spero here in Oregon and is part of the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI). Probably one of the sweetest open-pollinated corn you will find.
The organic seeds that come from the farm in Dufur, Ore., have been harvested from the fruits, vegetables and flowers that continue to thrive every spring and summer in the valley below Mount Hood. These are the same seeds Azure will continue to use for years to come.
Oregon Tilth has tested our corn seed for any traces of GMO, and all the tests have come back with no residues detected.
This corn was grown here on the farm in Dufur by Azure Husbandry.
