Acorn squash is best for baking, either in halves or whole, at temperatures of 350-400 for approximately 1 hour. To check if it is done poke the squash with a dull knife feeling for required softness. Acorn may also be sautéed, and steamed. With its sweet, dry yellow flesh its fun heart shape, and ridges, acorn is a looked for treat. It stores well, and with a good source of dietary fibers and potassium, it will give a healthy and positive boost to your day.
