What started as a group of 57 Wisconsin farmers is now the largest supplier of organic milk in the country, supporting more than 1,800 farms. The mission of the Organic Valley CROPP co-op is to nurture local communities by keeping family farmers on the farm, farming. By doing that, they help protect your rights as a consumer to choose foods that are produced the way you want them produced using healthy, organic ingredients, environmentally sustainable practices, and the humane treatment of animals.
Organic Valley farmers implemented pasturing standards for their own farms in 1995 and helped set the pasturing standards for the USDA National Organic program of 2010. These cows are free to graze on the nutrient-dense grasses.
