Sustainably sourced Grubs from Scratch and Peck Feeds are a quality protein supplement for chickens and ducks. Also known as black soldier fly larvae, this treat packs a 40% protein punch to support consistent egg laying and strong, glossy feathers.

Crumble a couple of grubs and use as a bonding and training treat with chicks and ducklings. Scatter a few grubs on the ground (plus give the bag a shake shake shake) to call your teen and adult birds back to the coop. Use as a supplement for molt recovery and a protein boost during cold weather. And when the ground is frozen or covered with snow and foraging for insects is limited, you’ll be the henhouse hero when you treat your flock to our tasty insect treats.

This crunchy treat is also ideal for waterfowl, songbirds, pocket pets, dogs, cats, fish, turtles, and reptiles. They’re fun to serve, useful for training, and enjoyable for many species. Grubs are intended as a treat only—feed in moderation so they don’t spoil your pet’s appetite for complete, balanced nutrition meals. Do your research before feeding grubs to your pets – you may need to soak grubs in water before serving them to some animals.

Feeding Information:

For chickens and ducks of all ages. Feed Grubs by hand or scatter on the ground to encourage natural scratching behavior. If feeding to chicks or ducklings, break grubs into smaller sized pieces. Treats should not exceed more than 10% of a bird’s diet. Introduce new treats gradually and give your flock access to grit to aid digestion. Always provide clean, fresh water.
