Bartlett pears are prized for their naturally sweet, aromatic flavor and smooth texture, making them an excellent choice for creating a flavorful fruit puree. Our pears are harvested from Azure Husbandry orchards and processed fresh, then immediately frozen for best quality and to capture the delicious flavor of the seasonal harvest.
Because our pears are harvested and processed only once each year, this is a limited seasonal offering. We make only what the annual harvest provides, so once the year's supply is gone, it won't be available again until the next pear harvest.
As a fresh, farm-grown product, subtle variations in flavor, sweetness, color, and consistency may occur between jugs. These natural differences reflect the fruit itself and the unique characteristics of each year's harvest.
This pear puree is especially well suited for making homemade pear butter and pear sauce. With much of the preparation already done, it provides a convenient starting point for transforming the harvest into delicious homemade favorites. It can also be used in smoothies, baking, sauces, desserts, and other recipes calling for pureed pear.
For the best flavor and consistency, thaw the entire gallon completely and mix thoroughly before using. Natural separation may occur during freezing and thawing, so mixing the full container helps restore an even consistency.
Once thawed, keep refrigerated and use within one week for best quality. Because this is a fresh fruit product, extended storage after thawing may allow natural fermentation to begin, resulting in a slightly fizzy or “spritzery” flavor.
